Happy Thanksgiving! A Bird of Another Color...

Aunt Dianna's Flamingo painting is done.
Hope everyone has a wonderful day and enjoys their families. We miss those that have passed today, but continue to work to save our loved ones through early detection of breast and cervical cancer.

November Cancer Support Group

We had a wonderful night sharing and laughing. Sue and Barb picked up their canvases that we started the month before. Sue, Kristy and Linda started new pieces. Tips and stories were shared. One book that was extremely helpful to Jan was "Anti-Cancer, A New way of Life" by David Servan Schreiber, MD, PhD. It talks about how important nutrition and alternative therapy is for the body. Next meeting is scheduled for December 11th 7pm at Peak Physical Therapy. We're planning on making Christmas 'Boob' balls. We're so weird... but have fun, and that's what matters. Hope to see everyone there.

Gallery Night

Rumor has it that Shelly looked really TALL on the KPAX interview. View it on the home page of our website www.fauxpink.org. Remember that if you didn't make it last Friday the exhibit will be up all this month. The studio is decorated like a big round pink party.... what else would we do?

Spokane/Coeur d'Alene Party

Shelly's aunt Dianna hosted a party last week. New canvases are underway. Thanks Dianna and my sweet cousin Robin!

Watch tonight on KPAX to see the media coverage of our Gallery Night. Our 'Early Detection' piece is generating a little buzz around town. It is such a powerful image. We soooo appreciate the gals that were brave and took part in the photo. You can see this and other works all month at Steven Begleiter's studio downtown at 223 W Front.

Faux Pink is very excited to be a part of the 'Walk for Awareness' scheduled for Oct 24th in Alberton Montana. The mother daughter duo spearheading the project lent a "hand" so-to-speak, for the logo that's currently in progress. More to come soon on this worthy project.

Remembering Mom

Had the pleasure of meeting Jen and Taylor this evening. The were celebrating the lives of their Moms and Grandmas who were affected by breast cancer. A one-year-anniversary of Jen's Mom who lost her life to cancer is scheduled for Sunday. Tonight we started a special piece that they'll share with the family.

More finished pieces from Gretchen's party.

Gals, Cecelia has all these canvases with her. They turned out all so unique and awesome!

Peak Physical Therapy Support Group

The staff at Peak hosted an evening for their breast cancer patients on Friday night. It was a wonderful evening for the women to meet and share with each other. We enjoyed listening to their stories of determination and strength.
We revealed the piece we had done with the Peak staff "Cycle to the Peak". And several ladies took the plunge and started their own breast pictures. It was a great night and we look forward to having more get-togethers.

Gretchen's Party

First piece done from Gretchen's Party. We're all thinking of you Gretchen on Monday. Hope all goes really well!

Our Libby Supporter

Thank you Karen and Jim Locke for your support of Faux Pink! The Liquor Store and Gift Shop owned by the Lockes have purchased many prints from us and have them for sale in their shop. We appreciate their hospitality and friendship when we were in Libby last weekend.

Nordic Fest

The "Eidelweiss" girls hit the fields of the Nordic Fest last weekend. We enjoyed meeting some great people and spreading our mission of fighting breast and cervical cancer. While we were there these two new pieces of art were finished. They're titled Cari'boob' and Redbreasted. They both are available for purchase.

Heading to Libby's Nordic Fest

We're onto new and exciting ventures. With steins in tow, we're headed north! Some new pieces that'll be on display at the Scandinavian Art Fair. Flowing with the theme, they're a touch of whimsy and northern magic. Shelly and Jill will be dressing the part... stay tuned.

Mary's Piece

Our late addition to the young girls get-together turned out contemporary and striking. Thank you Mary and Ryan!

The 'Befores' from Gretchen's Party

Here are the before pictures from Gretchen's party on Wednesday night. I'll be working on these throughout this coming week. All the gals had such great ideas; lollipops, belt buckle, tulips and even the Eiffel Tower! Keep watching for the finished products to be posted.
