Race for the Cure - Helena MT

Hi everyone! We had such a wonderful time at the Race for the Cure on Saturday in Helena. For those who don't know, the Susan G Komen foundation sponsors these race days, earning money to find a cure for breast cancer. There was a survivor celebration on the Capitol's steps. It was very moving and successful day.
Our team, 1 in 8 (meaning 1 in 8 women have breast cancer), wore the t-shirts we had painted for them that Tuesday before. Thanks for such a wonderful day Community Medical Center for sponsoring the team. Thanks also to Majestic Travel for providing the bus, and Bev Fix for being our driver.

T-Shirt Night

We had sooo much fun making the t-shirts for the 'Race for the Cure' coming up on Saturday. The finished product will be presented on our bus ride over to Helena. Bev Fix will be our sweet bus driver. Special thanks to Michelle, Kara, Lia, Nicole and Linda for helping us break in our new 'Breast Showroom and Studio' located in the new home resource store called Direct Source Cabinets at 3535 West Broadway.

We finished this piece 'Martini' a while ago, but just now have the picture to post. We have this piece available in a print for only $25.00. We have our big 't-shirt' night tomorrow night. Painting 30-40 tshirts for women riding the CMC bus to Susan G Komen 'Race for the Cure' in Helena on Saturday. I encourage everyone to support the race.

'Roses on your Pillow' is now finished. This is what a mother said to her daughter every night before bed. The mother has now passed, she fought breast cancer. The rose's are of course the daughter's breast prints. That's how this works.

Hi there, today we met with Char Houska, breast care navigator at St. Patrick's Hospital, and her breast cancer support group at St. Francis parish. They were interested in doing a workshop in Superior and displaying the canvas' at their 'Relay for Life'. Very nice to meet those women.
We also visited the Kendahl Jan Jubb gallery. There they have a bronze created by
Arthur Norby depicting a woman's rebirth, a tribute to his wife's successful fight against breast cancer. Proceeds benefit a breast cancer charity. Please take the time to visit her studio in downtown Missoula or go to kendahljanjubb.com.
We were commissioned to do a piece for a wonderful friend Louise in Darby Montana. This is our newest piece. The pomegranates.
Thanks so much for following our progress!
